On a walk one afternoon to a favourite wood, I became fascinated by how
a landmark such as an old tree could mean different things to different
people! How it could be a meeting place for lovers, a hiding place for
thieves, a sign post for passing dogs, or just a familiar face on a
woodland walk. Trees carry with them a rich range of ideas about
identity, authority, the past, and the nature of time. These ideas and
themes were something I wanted to explore.
I began to wonder what would
happen if two people with very different histories and backgrounds were
to meet, by chance, by a tree. A tree that has played very different roles
in each of their pasts.
How might their individual story's impact one another?

I love this concept. I think it will be a marvelous film in our hands. Can't wait!
